To celebrate Vogue‘s annual ‘Fashion’s Night Out 2010′ GAP will be showcasing a live set by US artist Janelle Monáe at the Oxford Street Flagship store on September 8th @ 19:30.

Fashion’s Night Out 2010 will take place in London along with the rest of the world on September 8th 2010. It promises to be as hugely successful as last year with London’s favourite designers, models and fashionable people in town to mingle with the shoppers and help you find just what you’re looking for in capital’s West End.

One of my favourite sneaker brands Android Homme have joined forces with Supply Circuit to create this super lush limited edition Propulsion Hi sneaker with only 500 pairs being made worldwide.

The Propulsion Hi is a sneaker which I’ve featured frequently on this site but this time the model turns it up a notch with the use of luxury high end materials. The new sneakers feature lambskin and satin lining, perforated and full grain leather, custom hand-tags and a full leather insole.

With the sneaker being limited to 500 pairs worldwide and available excluisvely instore from Karmaloop Boston this is one unique collobaration which will be tricky to get hold of in the UK. **UPDATE** Just been informed by Karmaloop that they have made a small batch of these sneakers available to the rest of the world via Karmaloop.com.

It’s official H&M‘s next designer collaboration will be with Lanvin!  How dope is that?! H&M have previously collaborated with the likes of  Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons and Sonia Rykiel for their annual Designer Collaboration. This year the collection will be designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz, and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver and the entire collection will go on sale on November 23th 2010 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide - expect big queues! 

The col­lection of both womenswear and menswear will be revealed to the world on November 2nd - three weeks before the clothes hit the stores via a special film which will be available for all to see online at www.hm.com. I’m hoping the collection doesn’t disappoint and has some key stand out pieces especially outerwear.

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

“We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.

The Anti Design Festival is arriving in London soon!

This festival is dedicated to London’s art and design culture in a response by Neville Brody, he wanted to gather everyone to challenge the contemporary stereotype. The festival will be happening at Redchurch Street, Shoreditch. It will be loaded up with everything from exhibitions and screenings, to performances and talks from different creatives.

This event will be very informative, and useful for all the designers that are out there. It’s will be taking place on the 18th- 26th September so there is plenty of time for you to make sure yourself available!

Size? have just dropped this exclusive pair of Puma R698′s – a collaboration between Size?, Sneaker Freaker and Puma.

Size? have been teaming up with some of the biggest names in the sneaker game to celebrate their 10 years anniversary and the classic Puma R698′s will be released in two colour ways. One consists of a beige suede base and a trinomic tech midsole, the other style features top quality brown leather – I especially love the laces on the brown ones!

Both shoes are a limited release and retail at £69.99 from Size?.

RWD Magazine celebrated its 100th issue in style this week with an exclusive 100 ticket invite only event held in East London and of course Elektrodrop were on the scene celebrating the major milestone.

The event was hosted by UK comedian Jamie Howard and headlined by Tinie Tempah, who tore it down along with support from DJ Yasmin and Radio 1/1Xtra DJ MistaJam.

The who’s who of the UK music scene were in attendance with the likes of  Alesha Dixon, Mr Hudson, Ironik, Labyrinth, Terri Walker and Jessie J to name a few.

Recently elektrodrop were invited to an exclusive peep at Radii Footwear’s never before seen Autumn/Winter 2010 sneaker collection. We hit up the warehouse in London and found what I can only describe as every sneakerhead’s dream – a room filled entirely with kicks!!

Radii Footwear is a brand we’ve covered previously and a firm elektrodrop favourite. Radii have some dope new designs and updated colourways in store with the 420 Top and Moon Walkers being the obvious standouts due to a host of celebs seen rocking them. Along with those usual suspects they have a new ‘Black Book’ collection which is geared more towards the mature crowd using premium materials such as leather, suede, canvas, and wool.

I know a lot of you have been hollering at us as to where you can pick up the Radii’s - we’ve been informed there will be quite a few UK stockists for the Autumn/Winter 2010 season including Harvey Nichols.

I know we’re still in Summer but a lot of brands are releasing their Autumn/Winter collections including H&M. The new Fall 2010 collection lookbook reveals some urban sophistication mixing up casual/smart attire in leather, tweed, wool and cotton.

Definitely some dope pieces in the collection especially all of the outerwear. A real good look for Winter in my opinion with the added bonus of being available at High Street prices.

Look for the full collection to drop at H&M stores worldwide and online via their new e-store opening real soon.

Earlier in year Serato and Stones Throw teamed up with the J Dilla Estate for the official J Dilla Serato release, Donut Shop. The pack included 2 discs with six J Dilla tracks – three previously unreleased tracks and three previously unreleased instrumentals for Mos Def, Busta Rhymes & Q-Tip, 2 sides with Serato Control Tone (for use with Serato Scratch Live DJ software), and 2 donut slipmats in a package designed by Studio No.1.

The above pack is available from the Stones Throw website for $34.99 and aimed at the DJ’s but as a thank you for all the support – they’ve just released a free download version featuring all the tracks for us normal folks.
