Looking for the chance to get recognised for your artistic talent? Been waiting for a platform to showcase your skills? Well now’s the perfect ‘time’.
Swatch have launched a competition to find a young, distinct designer worthy of bestowing the ‘Swatch Young Illustrators Award’.
If you think you can express originality and creativity through your work and don’t shy away from being unique then this is just the thing for you. Swatch are looking for submissions of illustrative artwork, art projects with graphic influences, animations and book art objects.
A carefully selected panel of judges, made up of some of the biggest names, experts and editors in the industry will be deciding who to reward with prizes to the value of 6,000 Euros and the honour of showcasing their work at ‘Illustrative’ in Berlin. Swatch are also presenting the exceptional opportunity to one lucky winner to join names such as Kiki Picasso and Robert Altman in designing a Swatch watch.
Now if that’s not enough to get you inspired, all short-listed entries will be invited to get involved in future shows worldwide, a great platform for those looking to gain more exposure. Artists making the short-list will be credited on the Illustrative website and have the chance to discuss possible offers for illustration and publication contracts with top agencies.
The competition is now open and will close on the 22nd of October 2010. A winner in each category will be decided and revealed in November. To enter, log in online to submit your work on the Illustrative website, please note, you may be required to pay the initial fee of 30 Euros or 48$ to register. Once you have registered, you will be contacted by a member of their team who you can correspond with throughout the competition process.
Good luck!
